Five Year Parish Plan
January 1, 2007 to December 31, 2012
Ministry Challenges
Vision and Mission Statement - To write a Vision and Mission Statement to be developed collaboratively with input from all of our parishioners.
Liturgical Life - To enhance the quality of our Eucharistic Liturgies by providing an environment conducive to public prayer, quality congregational and choir singing and maximum participation of laity in all appropriate liturgical roles.
Community Building - To forge deeper ties among our three thousand plus members so that everyone may experience themselves as being important, needed and loved in our community.
Religious Education - To provide opportunities for all ages to grow in faith together in an on-going, life-long, faith-formation experience.
Youth Ministry - To provide opportunities for our youth to gather, to learn, to pray and mission together.
Social Justice - To educate our people on the pressing social issues of our day and to provide opportunities to address creatively and imaginatively those issues within the scope of our possibilities.
Twinning with a Third World Parish - To partner with a developing world parish and develop a reciprocal relationship sharing each other's faith and culture.
Evangelization - To help, first of all, each of us to be evangelized by the gospel call, prayer, retreats and missions and thus, being ever more committed to reach out to share our faith with God seekers.
Stewardship of Time and Talent - To provide expanded opportunities for our people to share their God-given time and talents for the building of the Kingdom by doubling the number of those committed from 250 to 500 and providing for them needed support and training.
Environment - To study and implement ways to reduce the use of our electrical consumption, (now referred to as "carbon footprint") and to find ways to recycle to the maximum degree feasible.
Prayer Partners - To enlist the prayer power of the greatest number of our people, especially our shut-ins, whose main objective would be focused on praying for those in need.
Church Complex Master Plan - To conduct a feasibility study on how to make the best use of our current land and buildings and to project our needs for the next decade(s).
Stewardship of Treasure - To invite a greater number of people to understand that we are called to give sacrificially and generously not primarily becuase there is a need, which there is, but because we feel so blessed by God that we want to give, impelled to do so out of a powerful sense of gratitude in thanksgiving to a good and gracious God for the material gifts that He has entrusted us with and with tithing as being our gold standard.
Standing Committees - To help our people know and promote the range of committees working with our parish and to appreciate the contribution that these are making to enhance the quality of our parish life.
Standing Organizations - To educate our people about our various organizations that are enrichening our parish and to encourage those interested to join and become involved.
As we dream this new chapter of our parish life, we remember that the journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step and we have only just begun.
